Sweep Up The Southeast: 178,500 Pounds and Counting!
Since its founding in 2023, the Venture Unknown Foundation’sSweep Up The Southeast initiative has mobilized passionate volunteers across several southeastern states to restore and protect the wild places we love.
With meticulous planning, unwavering dedication, and an unstoppable community spirit, our teams have successfully removed a staggering 178,500 pounds of waste from public lands, trails, and campsites. From discarded tires to abandoned appliances, we’ve tackled it all!
This is more than just a cleanup; it’s a movement. A movement that proves when adventurers, conservationists, and communities come together, we can create lasting change.
Thank you to every volunteer, partner, and supporter who has helped make this impact possible. The work doesn’t stop here—let’s keep pushing forward, one Forest Service Road at a time!
Meet Oscar, our trail trash and remediation trailer! Oscar was purpose-built for tackling challenging trail cleanups and repairs in remote locations where standard rental trailers fall short. This innovative trailer has been a long-standing dream for Venture Unknown, made a reality through generous support, including funding from the BFGoodrich Tires Outstanding Trails grant and trailer tires provided by BFGoodrich Tires. Many others also contributed by providing essential parts and fabrication expertise to bring Oscar to life!
