In 2025, Venture Unknown Foundation was honored to receive a grant from the Overland Expo Foundation. As a grassroots organization, support like this is critical to expanding our stewardship efforts and empowering volunteers to make a real difference on public lands.
Thanks in part to this investment, our 2025 Sweep Up the Southeast initiative brought together 196 volunteers across 13 teams in 8 states. Together, they contributed 1,465 volunteer hours, removed 60,310 pounds of trash, and recovered 616 illegally dumped tires from our forests, trails, and public lands. This project brought our grand total up to 253,900 pounds removed!
We are deeply grateful to the Overland Expo Foundation and every volunteer who made this impact possible. Together, we’re proving that when communities come together, we can truly Restore the Outdoors.
